Welcome to Fairburn House Care Home

Fairburn House is a family owned care home and is registered for up to 40 residents, 16 to 55 years old on admission.

It is situated in the country within a large area of mature trees and beautiful scenery. The road access and pathways are very suitable for long walks with wheelchairs. There are plenty of wildlife to be seen and admired along with the homes own pet rabbits and horses.

The home is fully equipped with special hoists, bath chairs and pressure relieving mattresses. Each resident is assessed and accommodated according to their needs. One of our nurses is trained in massage (member of the SMTD) exercise. She is also trained in music and movement therapy.

We promote an active and involved life within the community. We visit the hydrotherapy pool twice a week where we acquire the services of a physiotherapist. We also attend horse-riding for the disabled locally. We have a visiting beauty therapist, hairdresser and music therapist.

Our two cooks provide tasty nutritious meals, made mainly from local fresh produce. Special diets can also be catered for.

The activity area and sensory room provides a wide range of activities, from arts and crafts, parties, theme days, discos and tranquil areas too. There are regular in house musical entertainment to suit all tastes. We attend the local theatre, music venues and cinema.

Visitors are welcome any time that suits the clients. Relatives are encouraged to take an active interest in many social events taking place. Staff provide a high standard of nursing care. Twenty four hour nursing is provided along side SVQ qualified carers.

Special therapist, chiropodist, dentist and opticians all visit the home on a regular basis. Also, the local GP practice visits the home for regular consultation.

Fairburn House has a homely atmosphere where residents can have company, privacy or independence whenever they wish. Our staff are here to care for you, come and visit us any time.
